San Diego High School, founded in 1882, is one of the oldest and most diverse public high schools in California. Serving approximately 1,400 students, it offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme alongside a comprehensive college-preparatory curriculum. The student body reflects a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and graduates consistently progress to leading universities in the United States and abroad.
Currently ⅓ of SDHS Juniors and Seniors benefit from taking IB classes. However, this comes with significant costs not currently covered by the San Diego Unified School District. The SDHS Parent Connect Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, raises funds to meet that funding gap, paying for required teacher training, textbooks and supplies, and student activities!
We also coordinate community-building events and volunteer opportunities for parents, and support celebration and recognition events for students.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a global leader in international education - developing inquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and caring young people.
Offered as a 2-year program in Junior and Senior Years at SDHS, the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) empowers school-aged students to take ownership in their own learning and help them develop future-ready skills to make a difference and thrive in a world that changes fast.
